Residency Requirements:
When filing for divorce in Kentucky, the filing spouse must have been
a resident of Kentucky for 180 days before filing.

The only ground for legal separation is irretrievable breakdown of the
marriage.
General Divorce Procedure:
The court will not grant the dissolution of marriage until the
spouses have lived apart for 60 days. Marital settlements agreements
